Technology is responsible to bring many changes all around us. Whatever we see around us in the modern world is a part of technology. The introduction to smart phones as well internet is a part of technological development. It is a new thought that has boosted human ideas in a new way and given shape to human imaginations. It is the formula of converting a dream into reality. It has shown many developments in the human civilization and given shape to human ideas as well. With the pace of time, it has benefitted the business as well as the society.

The rate of change of technology is very fast. This creates a future shock for the people. There are many people, who are not much familiar with the 3 G service of the mobile phones and the internet. In spite of that, the 4 G service is already in the market. This is difficult for many people to digest as they just have the basic experience of the earlier one. The faster change in the rate of technology creates a burden to the common person, who finds it difficult to catch the rate of change in technology.

Technology is not restricted to one single phase at all. It originated in the Nomadic age (0-1650), where people were engaged in harvesting food by means of stone tools. The next was an Agrarian phase (1650-1900). The phase was concerned with agricultural activities including plowing, harvesting and the use of tractors. The third was the Industrial Age (1900-1960), which used to build material goods with machine tools and steam engines.  

Service Phase, (1960-1975), being the fourth phase, was concerned for the growth and development of the computers. The next was the Information phase (1975-2000).  It dealt with the intellectual development of the tools of thinking as well as design. The tools included the computer, internet as well as the applications related to that. The last phase was Semantic phase that focuses on the world of networking, internet and social media across the globe.

Businesstechnology deals, with the application of science, data, engineering as well as information for the purpose of business. It helps to achieve economic as well as social goals. Government investment is one of the reasons for the growth of technology.

The Government played a major role in the year 1960 and started the internet. It also invested in science, energy, bio-medical research as well as in safety and security. Private investments also took part in fuelling the process of technological growth with the help of venture capitalists.

Technology leads to many changes

From the dawn of the civilization, technology has brought many changes in the life of man. Man is a wanting animal and human wants are numerous. “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Man has invented many things due to his necessity. In the olden days men used to move naked and there was no concept of wearing clothes. Men used to stay in the jungles and there was no residential place for staying.

With the pace of time man started to think that there is something known as ‘necessity’ in the life. Man started to realize that there is need of clothes, food and shelter. These are the three main things that came to their mind. They started preparing homes, designed clothes and invented the concept of growing crops. Previously, they used to survive on animal flesh and fruits from the forest. They understood that they must do this and technology has modernized the concept of growing crops, building homes as well as preparing clothes from time to time.

The word ‘Technology’ is not restricted to only machines. Many people think that it means only the introduction of new machines. However, the concept is a wrong one. Technology means a new idea, a new concept, which is a combination of skills, process, techniques, etc. The concept of preparing clay pots is a technology. The discovery of electric bulb was a new technology. Previously, there was no electricity and introduction to electricity was a new technology.

Technology has no area of limitation. It covers physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, etc. Today, the advent of Information Technology is much appealing to the modern generation. It has given a new birth to this new generation. It has contributed a lot in the field of software engineering, mobile applications and much more to do in the coming days.

The main concept of technology has come from men.  Man has a desire of flying, which became his need at one point of time. In order to satisfy his need, he invented the aeroplane to fly in the air. The concept was a new idea at one point of time and man never thought that one day by the dint of technology, there would be a random flight service from one part of the earth to another. Technology has made that possible and today we cannot imagine planning our travel without booking a flight in the holidays. Without technology, our life is beyond the scope of description. We have surrendered our body as well as mind in front of technology.
